Problems getting network card to install

S

Simonho

I have a P2 machine running Win XP Pro (newly installed).

I am trying to get the machine onto my wireless network and have installed
the software and the card in accordance with the instructions.

The problem is that the PC doesn't "see" the new card at all. It doesnt
appear in any of the resource lists.

The PC came from a school which had password protected the bios and the
original windows installation. I had the BIOS password, but not the windows
one, so I re-formatted the hard disk and reloaded win xp from scratch.

Could it be that there is a setting somewhere in the bios which disables the
PCI sockets? I have no idea where to look!

Any help would be much appreciated!

I'd suggest asking this in a newsgroup related to Win XP, such as
microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.
