Problems getting with ProjectWeb Access controls

D

Daniel

Hello.-

I have a fresh install of ProjectServer 2003. When I tried to access the
first time the projectserver web site I was redirected to the EULA page:

/ProjectServer/download/dlEULA.asp

Later I checked the Accept option and press next, but instead to access the
main page y receive the next message:

The controls for Project Web Access could not be downloaded correctly.
Please check your security settings in Internet Explorer or contact your
system administrator.
Return to the License Agreement page

I'm in a loop, never can access the main page. HAve someone and idea about
how resolve this problem?

Any idea will be apprecited.}

Thanks

When a user is not in the local machines administration group, it can't
download and install the ActiveX components into IE. Some company's don't
allow their users to be local admins so that they can't install software (and
unknown spyware) on to their machines. You might check to see if your admin
can give you the rights for a day to install those components.

Passporter, many thanks for this - solved my problem too.

Just to add one thing, I found out that you actually can just install it
with a user who has administrator level priviledges on the local machine, and
after the first access from that machine to the project server, all
additional users on the machine will be able to use the project web access
module without them needing to be local admins.

- Tested on a windows 2000 pro machine accessing MS Project Server 2003.

hope that helps anyone else.
