Problems importing HTML table

D

Doug

I'm trying to import an HTML table into an empty
worksheet, and would like to retain the rows and columns
formatting. 'Help' states to paste in the data, then
select 'Paste Options', but I can't find that. The same
icon is labelled 'Paste Special', but doesn't offer
the 'Keep Source Formatting' option that 'Help' says
should be in 'Paste Options'.

Anyone know about this discrepancy, and what the right
solution is?

Thanks.

In Excel
Just go to file => Open and paste in your URL while connected to the
internet (or intranet - whereever your url points).

Does that do what you want?

1. Make sure the "Show Paste Options Buttons" is checked in
Tools>Options>Edit.

2. Sometimes hard to find the button on the worksheet when a large table has
been pasted. Look for it at the bottom right corner of the pasted area.
