Hi, I used Outlook Express for about 7.5 years... then transferred all my old
email messages to Windows Mail. Now I'm trying to transfer all messages from
Windows Mail to Outlook 2007. (In the past 8 years, I have never archived
any of my messages or files. Although I delete files when possible, I have
to retain the majority of files and attachments for my work.)
The problem I currently have is that, although most messages seem to have
been imported across to Outlook 2007, some files are empty - when they should
contain emails.
I also find that when I try to move a message from one folder to another (eg
from inbox to a specific project folder) I see a warning window that tells me
that the .pst is full.
How do I retain all of my important email messages... yet overcome this
problem?
Also, how do I import the messages that don't appear to have transferred
across from Windows Mail?
Should I wipe what looks like a partial import to Outlook 2007... then do
some kind of compression or archiving in Windows Mail... before attempting a
fresh import to Outlook 2007? (Please bear in mind that I must keep all my
emails.... and the past 12 months emails must be easily accessible...
although anything over 12 months old could be archived in an area that
doesn't allow for totally rapid retrieval).
When I've completed an import, is there any simple tool that allows me to
check that all messages and folders have been imported successfully?
I'm not attached to an exchange mail server.... so all emails are held on my
laptop.
By the way... is the size of a .pst fixed.... or can they be expanded... or
a new size limit set?
Many thanks.
