Problems in using one excel workbook from two clients over automation interface !

Hello
What's the best way to connect to an excel application over the automation
interface from more than one client program ?

In other words: How can I connect to a running excel application without
starting the excel application twice ?
I need access to cells in an excel sheet from some clients.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advanced!
