Problems Insert wmv file into PowerPoint Presentation

I am trying to insert a wmv into my PowerPoint presentation. A blue round
circle appears and spins as if it is trying to load but nothing ever happens.
When I finally give up (after 60 minutes one time) then my PowerPoint is
locked up and I have to use my task manager to end. I am using PowerPoint
2007 and it does load audio files successfully.

I should try to encode again the film into wmv (yes, the same file type)
with the program SUPER (free)
and try again to insert it.

It appears that it will insert avi files but not wmv. Any suggestions on how
I convert a wmv to an avi?

Usually PPT likes WMVs better than AVIs, go figure.

Does this happen with all WMVs, or just some? (You can let it spin for just
a minute if it locks up like that.)

I have 5 different wmv files and it locks up on all of them; however, all of
the videos are from the same source. I tried using Movie Maker to convert
from wmv to avi and it locks up that program to so now I am thinking that the
problem is just the 5 wmv files and my all wmv files.

As I said try SUPER to re encode in wmv. Does that help?
