problems installing office 2003 sp2

I have Windows 2000 Pro and just installes Office 2003 Pro. Trying to
download SP2 or from the CD I get the message that the installation was
unsuccessful. Help!

Hi Milly- When I load from the CD it comes back with "the installation
failed". Not in exact words but close. (Not at that computercurrently)

The SP2 CD is for Office 2003 Pro.

I was not aware that Office 2003 SP2 is available on a CD. Are you trying to install SP2 for 2003? Which SP2 and for what version of Office are you trying to install?

I am quite aware of this. I am trying to point out to the OP that the SP2 that he is trying to use is not for O2K3 . I am guessing that he is trying to use the OK2 SP2 CD for this purpose

everybody does understand that it's trivial to extract the SP2 package and
burn it to a CD-R(W)???

I agree, it didn't necessarily sound like that.

However, my point is that we should pay less heed to the fact that a CD is
being used, and focus more on accepting the possibility/reality that a CD
exists, and assist the poster in solving the issue.
