Problems Installing Office 2007 B2TR

I've tried several times unsuccessfully to install the Office 2007 Beta 2
Technical Refresh. The most recent attempt came after uninstalling and
reinstalling Office 2007 B2 (UGH!). My problem comes with the "update
detection" process of the TR setup. About three-fourths of the way through
this, I receive an error dialog box telling me that the detection process
failed. Of course, true to MS form, there are no further
instructions/guidance as to how to troubleshoot and remedy this issue. Has
anyone else seen this? Any thoughts or suggestions?
