Problems installing OneNote SP2

B

Bill Bradley

I've setup a Compressed CD (just copied it to a network share) of Office
2003 Select/Enterprise using a setup.ini and MST files that installs the
Suite + FrontPage + OneNote + SP2 all in one install using chained installs.

I'm running into a problem, on some computers, where the SP2 for OneNote
refuses to install (the Suite/FrontPage SP2 installs fine).

It's not my files, as, I can't even install it manually, just running the
executable, and, I am using the Full-File version of both SP2 files.

I found some information about it maybe not installing if Windows Installer
is not at version 3.1, but, all my computers are.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try doing a repair install, then try the update again:

Method 1 – Open Word, go to Help – Select Detect and Repair

or use Method 2 -

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click the Office program that you want to repair, and then click Change.
4. In the Maintenance Mode Options dialog box, click Reinstall or Repair,
and then
click Next.
5. In the Reinstall or Repair Office dialog box, click Detect and Repair
errors in my
Office installation, and then click Install.
6. When the repair process is finished, run the update again.

Most likely you will need to have your Office CD handy.
