Hi,
I'm running an Access 2000 database on a small network and
for no apparent reason it has suddenly refused to open. It
is now throwing up the legend "This database is in an
unexpected state; Microsoft Access can't open it. This
database has been conversted from a prior version of
Microsoft Access by using the DAO Compact Database method
instead of the Convert database command on the Tools menu.
This has leftthe database in a partially converted state."
the odd thing is taht I was , as far as I can tell, the
last person to use the database before it went down and I
definitely didn't do anything to it!I'm reasonably computer
literate (I'm the designated IT guy here) and I certainly
wouldn't start saving in unusual formats without thoroughly
checking what I was doing first. So it appears to have done
this on it's own! Very odd. Anyone have any ideas how I can
retrieve the lost information. We have a backup so it's not
a disaster, but it's certainly a pain. Thanks. Steve
