Problems opening Excel

Suddenly as of 7/24, i cannot open Excel files. When trying to open i get a
message "Feature trying to use is on a CD-ROM, insert MS Office XP Prof" disk
and click "OK'. Done. Nothing happens. Error 1706, looking for Proret.msi.

Only Excel appears to be affected.
