When opening public folders get error - Unable to expand folder - low
resources or memory.
Running Outlook 2003 with Exchange SBS 2003.
The problem is intermittent. It will work for a while (minutes or hours)
then give the error. When problem occurs in Public folders other folders also
start having problems.
Public folders are sychronised to laptop and the totasl OST file is around 6
GB. 1.5 GB for mailboax and the rest is Public Folders. Yes it is big but
within spec for Outlook 2003.
If the problem occurs I can set Outlook to offline and can then use Can use
Public folders but is only limited value as we can't do certain actionas in
public folders when offline..
The problem does not occurs with other users on site. The problem did not
occur with a previous laptop with same software installed.
Microsoft Knowledge base suggests a confilct with other installed software -
mainly Back up Exec and Norton's AV. Neither of these are installed.
Have tried the following (without Success):
New Outlook profile
Re-install Outlook
New user profile on laptop
After the new user profile on the laptop the problem occured consistently
when Outlook was opened, and was partially resolved by going offline then
online. After this the problem was less frequent but this does not fix the
problem.
I have run out of ideas and would greatly appreciate any help. I don't want
to have to reformat and reload the laptop as it is a complex set up and will
take the best part of a day. Also, can't garantee this will fix the problem.
