Problems Publishing My Site

I submitted a earlier question on an error message I am recieving when I try
to publish my site. ("Publisher wont Publish" - 11-30) My question was
answered, but no change in the result. I followed up with additional question
and information, but no reply.
I am still unable to publish my web site, I still recieve the same error:

"Publisher could not save the file to the Web.
Check your URL or network connection and try again."

I am using Publisher 2003, with a DSL connection. The last time I was able
to publish my site I was using a cable broadband connection. (not sure if
that matters) Also not sure if file size make a difference but it is 11.5 mb.

I would appreciate any assistance.

Hi,

I was actually going to post a new thread on this topic, but found thi
one.

I am having the same problem with Publisher 2002 (10.6308.6714) SP3 o
one particular website. It sometimes happened with 2000, except th
sites would sometimes end up published - not aborted despite th
message - and sometimes not. Especially on larger sites.

I do several sites with Publisher. This one is 158 pages lon
currently. What you might not have tried is publishing to a name othe
than what you had (probably index.htm or index.html). In fact, with m
one problem site, I can publish to ANY name but index.htm(l).

I am in "discussions" with the email-only support at my hostin
service. I'm asking them if something is wrong with permissions or th
FrontPage extensions. Why else would all page names work EXCEPT th
existing one? So I renamed my index.html file and index_file
directory and tried to publish to index.html again. It still failed.
So even though there shouldn't be any open files or naming conflicts
Publisher still fails. And I can see my network activity ligh
steady-on until it fails, and sometimes forever until I end the task.

So, 14 hours later, I just tried the Microsoft suggestion of deletin
the network place. That worked for me.

Gee whiz.

It didn't matter. Index.htm failed too. Both names, among others in
the precedence order, should work with most hosts. I saw other users
on various forums with the same problem where deleting the network
place didn't work for them. So that was the last thing I tried. I
guess I was lucky it worked. And I should have done it much sooner.

I have done all of that and I still can't publish. Worked fine for a month or
so, and just quit. One time I simply copied a page, and it published, but I
must have gotten caught by the publisher gremlins, because that little ploy
only worked once.
