Hello. I receive many e-mail messages written in Japanese. The subject line
is always readable but sometimes the contents of a message are displayed
largely as question marks. These messages are all in plain text and mostly
have charset=iso-2022-jp. I can read the text only if I change the encoding
from 'Japanese (Auto-Select)' to something else and then back to 'Japanese
(Auto-Select)'. And I have to do this each time I access the message (even if
I "save" the encoding change).
There is a second type of message (also plain text) in Unicode (UTF-8) which
I seem to be unable to read however I adjust the encoding.
My outlook.pst is a "Personal Folders File" which I believe supports Unicode.
These problems have only started recently when I moved to a new PC with XP
and Outlook 2007, from Windows 2000 and Outlook 2000. On the old system I
noticed no problems in reading Japanese.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.
