Hi,
I hope someone can help with this problem, any help would be greatly
appreciated. I have laptop Dell insipron 1100 with XP pro on it. (and system
restore is turn off on this machine.) I Installed Office 2003 years ago with
no problems.
Recently, I removed some software (teamviewer) and now office 2003 is no
longer working so I tried to reinstalling office 2003 however I now get the
following message:
"Error 1402 setup cannot open registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\current
version\setup\migration DLL
Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the registry or
contact your computer manufactor's product support for assistance."
First off, I'm logged in as the Admin on the machine. Secondly, I went in to
the registry and tried to delete this key but it tells me that I don't have
permission.(lock out) I tried reinstalling office 2003
and it tells me that I've been successful however whenever I start Word,
Excel, etc I get a message that "office is preparing to install" and then
it fails to start.
Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
