Problems sending and receiving mail in Outlook while using Norton!

Hi all,

Since Christmas 2005 I've been unable to send or receive mail using
Microsoft's Outlook. This problem only seems to resolve itself when I turn
off Norton security, which I'm not confortable doing.
I've read at symantec, the company that produces Norton, that all I have to
do is turn off the e-mail scanning, but this hasn't worked for me! Similarly,
I read another post on this forum site that I should reinstall Norton and
this time disable the e-mail scanning options from the get-go. I'm a bit
reluctant to try this yet and am hoping that someone out there has a magic
bullet?

Please help!

Use Symantec's Automated Assistant to check your install for errors. Then,
check NIS under Options|AntiSpam and make sure that the email client (client
management) of choice is checked. See if this helps.
