Problems to uninstall Office 2000 Professional

Tony

I would like to uninstall Office 2000 from my laptop
however the software was originally loaded from a baseline
off the intranet of my last employer. How do I overide
the reference to the data1.msi file on an intranet I no
longer have access to?

Tony,

You will probably need to "remove" Office using the Windows Installer
Cleanup utility.

238413 OFF2000: Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=238413

It will not remove any Office files, it will only remove registry data that
makes the Windows Installer think Office is/not installed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Greg for your help.

However the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is not
supported on Windows XP, any other solutions. I have a
Office Professional CD with a data2.msi but obviously not
an Office Premium reference.

Thanks

Google searched and subscribed to this newsgroup. All references are that
Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is not for WinXP. No other replies since
September 2003. So just how do we uninstall Office 2000 on WinXP?
Can't repair nor uninstall. I did NOT delete the "Installer" directory, but
unfortunately it is gone. Big problems with NIS 2004, maybe it took
something
out that I didn't notice right away.

Really appreciate any ideas,

Fixed thanks to a post by Rolando E Creagh, MD FACS
in microsoft.public.officeupdate.
I am in his debt,
