I am customizing an Office 2007 installation, and, am having problems
removing older apps (Front Page 2003, Office 2007 Compatibility Pack, and
VISIO Viewer 2007) in the "Add Installations and run programs" section of the
Office Suite OCT.
I presume that all I have to do is add the UninstallStrings from the
Registry for the 3 products, but, the Pack and VISIO Viewer will NOT
uninstall (in fact, get upgraded with SP1, which I have in the Updates
Folder), and, while I CAN get FrontPage 2003 to uninstall, it appears the
UninstallString is wrong: MsiExec.exe
/I{90170409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9} (I believe the I, should be an X?).
When I change it to an X, it works fine.
I have tried running all these using the [post install] setting, but, am
going to try running the VISIO and Pack in [pre install], to see if that
works.
But...am I doing this wrong--is there a better way to do this?
Thanks!
