Problems using search function

Charles

When I try and use the advanced search to find an email using the persons
email address in the From field, the search engine can't find the emails from
that person.
I know there's emails from that person in the folder I’m looking in.
I've tried it with different people and using their name as well as email
address as the search criteria.
Why won't the search engine find these emails?

which from field? use the one on the first page of the advanced search
dialog to search for addresses (or domains) and on the advanced tab to
search for names.

I'm using the field on the first page (Messages Tab) but still don't get any
results?

Thanks
Charles

are you searching in the right folders? do you have any extra characters
entered? if you right click on an email and choose find, messages from this
sender do you find any? (that option uses the display name)
