Arley Galeano
Windows XP w/256 meg ram at 2.60 ghz CPU
Virtual memory paging set at 384 - 3072
Access 2000
Report has 15 pictures per page, landscape 3 rows X 5 columns that also
include data
Pictures linked, not embedded and stored in folder not in table and accessed
using code found in Microsoft knowledge base article - 285820
Report is 42 pages long
Pictures randomly stop appearing about page 4 without error message but the
data is still there. The pictures can be viewed using photo editor.
First error message, about page 6, is "Database doesn't support the format
of the file 'C:\Photos\XXXXX.jpg' so it can't load the picture". This
continues randomly throughout the rest of the report. I tested the
pictures, which can be viewed using photo editor or other programs.
Photos start repeating even though the link is correct, then they go blank
again and then the right photo comes up every once and a while. I tested
the pictures, which can be viewed using photo editor or other programs.
When paging was set at 384 - 1536 and when paging set to "System Managed
Size, this error occurred at about page 19 for the former and page 4 for the
latter:
"Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low"
"Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of
your virtual memory paging file. During this process, memory requests for
some applications may be denied. Form more information, see help"
When paging was set to "System Managed Size" I could only print 2 pages at a
time. Any more and the database would freeze and I'd have to re-boot. As
it was I had to close the database after each 2 pages then re-open and print
2 more pages.
When paging was set at 384 - 3072 above virtual memory error did not occur
but same problems happened, blanks started on page 4 and the repeats started
at pages 10
