If your not in fullscreen mode and this is happening it may take a registry
fix. Check for full screen first. If you are not in full screen, go to start
run and type regedit.
1.. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
2.. Double click Software
3.. Double click Microsoft
4.. Double click Office
5.. Double click Word
6.. Double click 8.0 for word 97 9.0 for word 2000 or 10.0 for word XP
7.. Double click Word
8.. Double click Data
9.. Double click the Settings Key and rename it to SettingsOLD
Word will recreate the Settings key when it is reopened and should open just
fine.
