Problems with 2 users publishing from a network share

2 people are maintaining a website where the master files
are on a network share and they are trying to publish
from that network share. One of the user can publish
without any problems but the other gets an "The server
extensions were unable to access the
file "E:_vti_pvt\service.cnf". Please check the file
permissions."

Any clues? Thanks in advance.

Bill,

I tried what was suggested in the article but everytime I
deselect the read only attibute of the directory and
verify the properties of the directory again, it reverts
back to Read Only.
