Problems with Acces 2003 on a Network (win2003)

chris

Hi ppl,

I have a (windows 2003) Server with 5 clients (Windows xp)
on every client i installed the "Office SBS 2003".
Everything is working fine except Acces 2003.

I can't make queries or use it properly within a database.
It's troubling me about Jetpack etc...
But everything is up2date.

The users on those client have only User rights and i want
to keep it that way.

The only way that acces2003 works correctly is that if
they logon localy (not in a domain) as administrator.
Only then acces2003 works how it should be working?

So i tried to give one user admin rights but that's not
working either, only locally as admin works???

Why is this happening and how can i solve this, is it a
policy problem?

Hi Chris,

It sounds to me that you've locked down the registry for those users. I'm
sure if you moved them into the Administrators Group it will work. Due to
the fact that you have them locked down so you will need to loosen up on
the security. Start with the registry hive Hey_Key_Classes_Root then work
your way to Hey_Key_Local_Machine.
