Problems with all my letters and documents in MS Office 2000

I noticed a problem with all my saved letters and
documents about one month ago. When I open all the saved
documnts or letters they all changed from a font 12 to a
font 10 plus at the bottom of every letter or document
there is a series of repeting phrases, numbers for up to
two pages after the documnet. So far I uninstalled and
reinstalled MS Word 2000. I went to start then find and
through normal.dot deleted out anything in my C drive.
Then I deleted out recycle bin. Then I created a new
documnet, saved it. Then exited and reopended that
document only to find the same problem. I have not solved
anything so far0. Help!

Hi Gary,

Make sure the file format in "File > Open" is not set to "Recover text from
any file".

This is a sticky setting in Word2000. It may have been chosen automatically
in the past when you attempted to open a damaged document or a file for
which Word has no converter.
