problems with applying bold option

hy,
I have an big issue while trying to aplly BOLD option. If I select one
portion of text word doesn't bold the selection but whole document and then
I aplly undo and everything is ok (only selection is bold). This is second
time that this problem ocured. First time I reinstalled complete office and
everything seems ok but I would like to know if there is real reason why
this problem ocured.
