Problems with Authorization

K

Karrybelle

I am the administrator for Project Server and only two groups are allowed to
create new projects in our set up. However, Microsoft Project is now telling
me I do not have authority to create new projects. Does anyone have any
suggestions of why this may be? I checked my authorization and I went to a
co-worker who has the same authorization as I do to see if he had the same
problem and he did. If it is not our authority what else could it be?

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is dedicated to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question, it
sounds like you have used a Denied permission in one of the security Groups
to which you belong. As the Project Server administrator, you only need to
be in the Administrators group. Take yourself out of every other Group to
which you belong and then determine if you can create a new project. Let us
know the results.
