Problems with Backspace and Delete keys

When I depress the Backspace or Delete key my computer only backspaces
or deletes one letter at a time, even though I keep the key depressed.
How can I get it to work properly again?

If your backspace & enter key are slow like this with other programs, then
its not word. You'll need to go to your control panel & increase the speed of
your keyboard.
