I have a client with MS Office documents stored in a Notes database, which
due to gov't restriction after post to the db, can not be altered. They were
created using 97 and anyone in the company (with access to the db in Notes)
or Office 2K can view tables and charts without issue. The Office XP
clients, however, see tables and charts as garbage.
I understand this to be due to upgrades in the charting products packaged
with Office XP. Yet, what I am looking for is a converter to stop this from
happening. Conversly, when clients still running 97 attempt to open Office
files from a network share that have been opened by Office XP, there is often
unexplained and quite random gibberish, view problems, printing issues..
mostly with tables and charts.
Anyone out there have these problems, too?
Is there a converter I can use? All clients are on 97, 2K and 2002 versions
of Office.
