Problems with Contacts - Help needed.

I copied all my data files over from my old Win XP Home SP1 PC to my new Win
XP Home SP2 PC, including my Outlook .pst files. I then installed MS office,
inc Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625) on the new machine. I can fire up Outlook
and it sees all my old messages and Contacts, but when I create a new
message and try to select a Contact via the To.. or Cc.. button I get an
error message as follows.

The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove
this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help.

The Contacts are there and I can see them if I click on the Contacts button
in the Outlook shortcut bar, and I can sort them, edit them as normal.

How can I fix this such that I can select from my Contacts when I click on
the To.. or C.. and presumably Bcc.. buttons associated with a new message?

If I clear this error message I then have the option of selecting names from
either Contacts, or the Outlook Address Book, which I don't use, and which
comes up as 'No entries in this Address ...' if I do try to use it.

Also I was unable to see my Calendar, I got 'Unable to display the folder.
Could not open the item. Try again' first time around but it was OK the
second time I clicked the Calendar button!

TIA.

In Contacts Properties, Outlook Address Book I found an option to 'Use this
Address Book as Contacts', so I checked the associated tick box. I now have
two sets of Contacts, the original which is still blank, and another which I
renamed My Contacts and contains all my Contacts. how can I get rid of the
original leaving only the populated My Contacts list/folder?

Or can I somehow bulk transfer/copy all of the contacts from My Contacts to
Contacts then delete My Contacts? If so how?

TIA.
