Good Day,
I have taken over support of a web site that was developed in Visual
Interdev 6.0 using designtime controls. The code recently had to be moved to
a new server that does not have Visual Interdev. The new machine has
Frontpage 2000.
The code was working fine for about a month. Recently I had to modify a text
string on one of the ASP pages. The string was in no way related to any
designtime controls on the page, it was merely a label. After saving the
changes, the page would not load at all. An error stating that an object on
the page could not be found began to show up. The error referred to tha
"PageObject" design time control that had been used on the page. I was able
to go in and change all of the references to "thisPage", but that led to
another error. A function of the control is missing, but when I try to add
the code back and save it, FrontPage strips it out and saves the page exactly
as it was to begin with.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm extremely new to frontpage and
haven't found anything similar to this in the discussion groups.
