Problems with editing

When I try to edit data in an already-created chart in Word 2007, I have no
response (no data-table). Also, there are no error-massages.

I tried to solve the problem by using Office diagnostics, but there were no
problems or conflicts found.

I'm confused.

Not a solution but more a possible workaround - do you have the same problem
if you create your chart in Excel and copy it into Word?

I created a chart in Excel and copied it into Word, as you have suggested.
When I clicked on "Edit Data" icon in Word, I got message "The linked file is
not available. Use the edit links to find the file."

Still confused...
