problems with entourage and exchange

Running office for mac 10.4 using Entourage and Exchange 2003.

Users send e-mail via entourage and e-mail is not being received. What log
files can i use on server to see if mail is being sent/received properly for
Entourage.

Web e-mail works fine, so network is okay. Suspect problems with Entourage
and Exchange compatibility.

Is Entourage more reliable on exchange 2007 and Office for mac 2008?

thanks

An outgoing mail message will travel first to the Entourage Outbox, then
to your Entourage Sent Items and finally that folder will sync to your
Exchange Server. Use Outlook Web Access (OWA) to verify whether or not
your messages are appearing in the Sent Items folder on your server. If
you see them there then Entourage has done everything it can do. You'll
need to begin troubleshooting at the server. Your Exchange Server
administrator should be able to set up auditing on the problem account(s).

Entourage does not have log files that record successful or unsuccessful
actions. It will only create logs of application errors.

As for Entourage and Exchange compatibility, the two have been working
together now for nearly four or five years. Are you using Entourage 2004
sp2(11.2.0) or later? Regarding reliability, I am finding Entourage 2008
to be very stable in our environment. More features are available with a
combination of Entourage 2008 and Exchange Server 2007.

Hope this helps!
