Problems with Excel Add-Ins (Data Analysis)

Hello,

I'm trying to add the 'Data Analysis' add-in and I keep having
difficulties. I've reinstalled Office X and applied patches.

I click 'Tools-> Add-ins' and select the Data analysis pack off the
disk

The 'Data Analysis' menu item never appears on the 'tools' menu like
it should. Also, when I open Excel I now get the error message "
'FuncRes' could not be found." I've tried adding 'FuncRes' from the
disc, but it won't.

Any ideas?

i am having the same trouble.

i have run the office updates (10.1.4 & 10.1.5) after i have installed
the analysis tools (from the office x cd). i have then trashed the
microsoft excel prefs (and anything else related) as well as run the
disk utility to repair permissions. after that i launch excel and open
tools-add ins and select the analysis tools (check marked). excel is
fine. if i close it, then relaunch it, i get the 'compile error in
hidden module' error!!

very frustrating....

I seemed to have fixed the problem. Thanks for your help. This is
what I did:

(1) Uninstalled Office X
(2) Reinstalled Office X
(3) Add all add-ins (not just Data Analysis)
(4) Uncheck Data Analysis from Add-in menu (will keep the 'funcres'
error from appearing)
