Problems with Excel

D

David Mobley

While trying to access Excel I get the following popup
windows: "Windows Installer: The feature you are trying to
use is a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not
available. Insert Microsoft Office 2000 Premium disk and
click okay;" when click okay I get: "Problem with
shortcut: The installation souorce for this product is not
available. Varify that the source exists and that you can
access it."

I can not find the Excel program in "Search" only entries,
but not the program itself. Also, it the entry "Microsoft
Excel" appears under "Programs." but when I click on that
the above popup windows appear.

You say you clicked OK. Did you put the CD in the drive first?

Was Excel installed to run from the CD instead of from your hard drive? If so, you need to get
out the Office CD and reinstall, this type saying Excel should be run from the hard drive.
