Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

When I open the excel app the system sent to me 4 or 5 pdf and xls (or differnt types of excel files with errors ) files with errors. I need to accept every one to open the excel app. How can I eliminate this ????

No offense, but I really can't figure out what the problem is. Can you
reword it a bit more clearly?

One thing I can tell you is that Excel can't open PDF files if that's what
you're trying to do.

This sounds similar to a problem that I'm having. Immediately upon starting Excel, it tries to load dozens of files of all sorts, and eventually crashes when it runs out of memory. This happens both when I start the app by itself and when I try to open a particular spreadsheet. It looks like it's trying to open every file in my document directory!

Sorry Geoff - it may "sound similar" to you but it's totally different:) In
order to best help you out submit a New message rather than replying to an
existing thread. Be sure to include all pertinent specs : OS version, Excel
version, etc. I believe I know what the problem is but the fix varies based
on those details. I don't mean to be contrary, but I'm not about to list all
possibilities based on various combinations of Office & OS X:)

Just 'cause I'm a nice guy, however, here's the most likely in the most
recent version of Excel (2008):

Go to Excel> Preferences> General & clear whatever you have indicated for
"At startup, open all files in:_____". If that's not it please comply with
the request in the top paragraph:)

Bob in order for the smileys to come off as they should, you need to
have at least one space between the item you want to put the smiley by
and the actual smiley. I'll copy your comments to and add appropriate
spaces to show you. :

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!
