Hi
We want to automatically foward mail coming to a specific mailbox onto a
specific EXTERNAL (to our domain) email account. We are trying to get a rule
to perform this feature. We are using Outlook 2000 SR-1
We have proved that the rule fires and properly excutes when the person
mentioned in the 'Person or distribution list' section of the rule is set to
1 of our internal domain accounts.
However when we set it to the external account it does not work.
We have created a representation of this external account on our Exchange
Server (Created an 'Other' mailbox and set the email address to that of the
external account) - and we can certainly directly send mail to that account.
We have 'closed' our Exchange Server (5.5) to prevent unauthorised relaying
but we have permitted relaying using authentication - we thought this should
do the trick as the rule is created by an authenticated user - myself) but it
steadfastly refuses to forward the emails. We have also tried permitting
certain IP addresses (to include my m/c) but again no joy
Any bright ideas what we are doing wrong??
Many thanks for any assistance
