Problems with headers in column table

M

Michael M.

I have a table (3 columns in the table) formated as 2
columns per page. (To help with this description we have
a 3 column table wrapping on the page to create a 2 column
3 column table... I really hope this isn't confusing!) On
the left side of the page the header (using the heading
rows repeated) info looks okay. On the right column it
looks okay. The problem is when I print it the right
column prints half the text (shifted up) for the header of
the 3 columns in the table. If I reduce the font size for
the header it prints shifted up but in its entirety. My
gut feeling is that it is a WORD issue. But I am looking
for any help.

Thanks for your help in advance!

I'm totally confused.

I think I am only partially confused. I think he said:

1. His document is formatted as two columns per page of snaking
column.

2. The text that is snaking consists of a lengthy table. The table
contains three columns.

3. He has set heading row repeat for one row.

4. On screen the heading row repeats correctly at the top of each
snaked column.

5. When he prints, the repeated heading row in the right hand snaked
column is incorrect. Specifically, the text is positioned too high
within the cell, and only half of it (he does not say which half) is
present. If he reduces the font size it is still shifted up within the
cell, but it all prints. (So probably it was the bottom half that was
printing with the full-sized font.)

He does not say:

Whether the table rows are AutoFit or fixed height, and what the row
height is.

What it looks like in Print Preview.

What fonts he is using, or the font size, or what printer.

Where I remain confused is exactly what he should do about it.

Hi Bob,

OK, that clears up my confusion, however I cannot replicate the problem.
I'll ask him to send me a copy of the document so that I can investigate.

Hi Michael,

With Bob's help, I now understand your table layout, but I cannot replicate
the problem. If you want to send me a copy of the document, I will take a
look and see if I can tell what is causing the problem.
