Problems with inviting attendees

I'm having problems with inviting attendees to
appointments. My computer has office 02, the people i'm
trying to invite all have office 2000. They receive a
bunch of jumbled stuff. I can receive invites from them
fine. Is this a compatibility problem between the 2
versions? Does anyone know how i can fix this?
