Problems with office outlook connector, buttons not active!

Downloaded Microsoft Office Outlook connector, to be able to use the
functions for my hotmail account. My Hotmail account is there and I can
receive messages, but the buttons are not responding , I can't access the
e-mail account wizard either, so can't remove hotmail account and start
again. The message 'the messaging interface has returned and unknown error.
If the problem persists restart outlook.'
I have done this several times, I have uninstalled the connector and
uninstalled Microsoft Outlook 2003 and reinstalled them both but still not
working. Help please.
