Problems with Oulook hanging...

I have just gotten a new Dell laptop and installed my existing version of
Office Professional 2000. Outlook was working - for the past week everything
has been fine. Today, it won't open...it just hangs with the info box in
front.
I installed all of the updates available for both windows and office at the
beginning.

Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions on what is happening??

I have McAfee Security on this system, including Spamkiller - previously I
was using Norton.

Thanks for any input you might have.
