Problems with Outlook 2002

I

Infoseeker

Outlook 2002 closes and re-boots itself whenever I leave the Inbox, whether
for an 'internal' folder such as contacts, or if I click on a web link
embedded in an e-mail or simply try to open an attachment. I also find that
deleting calendar appointment recurrences is not possible. Each occurrence
must be removed manually.

Technical info: I am using XP Professional with Office 2002 small business
edition.
Outlook and Outlook Express are both manufacturer-installed on my computer.
Outlook Express does not exhibit the re-boot behaviors above. I recently
switched
from using Outlook Express to Outlook, and only then experienced the re-boot
problems.

Originally my computer used Windows ME. I upgraded to XP a few years ago.
I recently downloaded Service Pack 3 for MS Office, but it did not resolve
any of the issues. At the suggestion of a responder to a previous posting, I
tried running a repair from the Outlook CD, but it did not solve the
problems.

Additional info: I imported contacts and calendar from a more recent version
of Outlook/Office, probably 2007, using comma-delimited files. Any chance
these are causing the problem? I recently tried using Microsoft's
compatibility checker, but it didn't help.

Another issue, possibly related: I frequenty get a debugging error message
as follows: Just in Time Debugging- An exception 'Runtime Error' occured in
Script. Possible Debuggers: New Instance of MS Script Editor.

When I try the only suggested debugging debugger, it encounters an error.

Any ideas out there on what to try next?
