My problem is Outlook 2003 resolves the FQDN of the server when setting up
use with exchange. The DC that exchange is located on hosts the
"oldhamtravel.local" domain as its FQDN, however the netbios of the domain is
"oldham". Outlook 2003 will not open the exhange folders for the user and
gives an error stating to check for proper access and permissions. However,
you can uninstall outllook 2003 and install an earlier version of Outlook,
then get the user to sign into the same workstation again. Everything will
work properly. I assume this is because earlier versions reolve by server
name only and not the FQDN. The client will need the use of Outlook 2003 in
the near future. Thus, my work around using earlier versions will diminish
with time. Any suggestions.........
