Problems with Outlook 2003 integration using SP1

Ryan Miller

Good Morning:

We just migrated to a new server using Project Server 2003 with SP1. On our
old server, the outlook integration with the calendar works fine with
resource tasks.

On the new server, with the same configurations, only with SP1 added, when I
try to import my assignments, it tells me that I do not have any new
assignments. However, it pulls my task list over from Outlook to my PWA task
list which is new adn annoying as I can't update the tasks in PWA.

Has anyone seen this problem after installing SP1 and if so, have you gotten
any solutions from MS?

Thank you for your help.

Ryan,

I have been in contact with MS regarding several problems with Outlook and
SP1. When I report a new issue, the development team always asks for
specific steps and screenshots to help them recreate the problem.

If you would send such info to me, I will forward it on.

I will report back to this board any resolutions, workarounds, etc, that I
receive back from MS.

I also have had problems with Outlook integration. Specifically, the
Outlook add-in and Project Professional 2002. Essentially, one causes the
other to not operate correctly. I contacted Microsoft about this and they
essentially said that I have to upgrade to Project Pro 2003 if I want the
Outlook Add-in to work. Apparently, the add-in breaks some dlls that are
installed or Project Pro 2002 breaks the Outlook add-in dlls.

I find the answer unacceptable, but have to live with it.
I don't know if this helps answer some questions, but it may shed light on
some other deficiencies in the product.
