problems with outlook 2007 not responding

I have a Gateway less than a year old with Vista Pro and 2007 Outlook. EVERY
TIME I try to access outlook it takes FOREVER and it always goes into "not
responding" mode. I am so sick of outlook.
I have to spend 20 minutes shutting it down and rebooting and then waiting
forever, again, for it to load, just to see if its going to respond this
time. any suggestions.
