Problems with Outlook and Optimum Online

I have my Optimum Online e-mail account set up with
Outlook 2000. I get in-bound e-mails fine, but even
though my outgoing e-mails show as having been sent, they
never get to intended recipient.
Operating system is XP, Outlook version 2000 with all
patches and updates applied.
Any ideas? Other 3 computers in house send and receive
fine, so it's some setiings on this particular PC.
