Problems with Photo Gallery

When I make a Photo Gallery, and then upload it to my website, the pictures
do not show up, and instead, I just get the DWT that I used, and the words
"[../../../photogallery/photo00011445/real.htm]"...Can anyone help me?

Also, I don't think I have too many pictures in the Gallery because I only
did 60 per gallery.

If you go back through this newsgroup for two or three years (use Google
groups) you will see that the Photo Gallery tends to break with more than
about 35 pictures - some users cannot use more than 30, others manage over a
hundred, but most of the problems start at about 35 pictures.

What do you mean by importing the photos into the site before inserting them
in the gallery? I created a gallery and told it to get the pics from a file,
which was just a folder on my hard drive. Was that not right? If I was
supposed to import them into the site, where was I to have put them...on a
separate unlinked page?
Thanks

I really think that 60 is too many on a singe page. Organize them into 3
pages so that the viewer isn't overwhelmed.

Not that was not the correctly way, you must have a web / site open in FP, then you must either use
the File Menu | Import command to import any external content to be used in the web, such as images
or you can drag/drop the images into a folder within the current open FP web, then you would insert
the images on to your pages or in your specific case, start the gallery component and have it get
the images from folder within the current open web / site. This way your images are associated and
within the current web they are being used in.

The photos must reside somewhere in your web. A folder named images is
usually created when you first created a new web. However, I like to create
separate folders for photos according to the event they are connected with.
This makes it very easy to maintain when cleaning up the website. FP has
conveniently provided an import feature to manipulate files, but you can use
explorer too.

Did you ever figure out how to over come this problem ? I have the excat same
problem, I do not think it is a problem with the # of photo's. AS I have seen
this error with photot gallery's that are 5-6 photos large. But I have seen
the problem more with large groups. This problem exsited on the last 3
versions of FP and is really annoying. The only way I have been able to over
come it is delete the Gallery and recreate it. Most of the time it works
again.

May I make a suggestion? From some of the posts I read, it looks like a
quite a few users are having a problem creating a gallery. Here's what I
do. I make a page of thumbnails which is so easy to do in FP. Just insert
your picture, right click and click on Auto Thumbnail. It automatically
makes the thumbnail a hyperlink. Here is an example of my scrapbook
layouts http://www.creationsanew.com/layouts/gallery.htm No one that I
know, has a problem viewing this and I received quite a few compliments.
