problems with program install

i wasrunning windows me with norton 2004 then i upgraded to xp .had some problems so i completely reinstalled xp now when i try to install norton antivirus it gets about half way through and says there was a problem with install try again or cancell. when i try again same thing happens when i cancell i have to start all over again and the same thing happens. this is the only software i am having problems with

Hi bozak

1. Try uninstalling

2. Uninstall live update and live reg

3. Then run rnav2003 from symantec site

4. Reboot and delete norton antivirus folders I also delete symantec folders
BUT becareful if any other symantec products installed.

5. Try reinstalling
