problems with re-publishing

Hi guys

I initially had posted an infopath form on a WSS site and everything
worked fine. I had a field whose's default value I had not specified
but I was accessing it in code and still the form worked perfect. Then
I installed VS2005 on my machine and got the latest updates and now
when I posted the infopath form on the WSS site, all the previous
documents in the forms library stopped working. I can create new
documents and they work well but all the previous documents don't work
anymore. My guess is that they are missing that one field in their XML
representation so the forms keep bombing out.

Is there a way to fix this?

Could somebody please tell me how to make forms already existing in a
forms library keep working even after changing the code behind and
Publishing the XSN at the same location as the previously existing xsn.

I am sorry if it sounds a little convoluted.

What I want to find is after overwriting an already existing XSN, what
do I have to do to make the forms that were created using the previous
XSN still work with the new XSN.
