problems with setup of Office XP

I have been running an OEM copy of XP HOME but am wanting
to upgrade to Office XP for EXCEL and Powerpoint.When
trying to install the disc It will not let me key in the
product password to begin installation.I have returned
the disc to the supplier and it works perfectly with
their machine.
Has anyone any ideas to assist?
