Problems with Spell check

I have a 300+ page document that I need to have spell checked. For som
reason, WORD only checks certain parts of the document. I have foun
several misspelled words, but I cannot seem to get WORD to recogniz
them. I have tried selecting and then checking, I have tried to g
into the edit/replace and then to format and to language and then t
turn off spell check. I have turned it off, on, etc. There is a gra
check mark in the box before I do anything. Normally I would just g
through and edit myself but because it is such a large document, i
would take a long time. Hopefully someone can help. I believe I hav
Office 2000 installed. Thanks

Ctrl+A to select the entire document, then go to Tools | Language | Set
Language. Make sure the correct language is selected and that "Do not check
spelling or grammar" is not checked.
